You can with a Halsa Mat !
Used in European and Asian countries for years, acupressure mats, such as the Halsa Mat , Heavenly Mat and other acupressure mats are becoming more popular in the United States for their ability to relief stress and increase relaxation.
Recently, Dr. Oz, featured the Halsa Wellness Acupressure Mat on his show as a tool to help you lose weight. He said that just by laying on the acupuncture mat, you can reduce your belly fat.
So how can a Halsa Mat, Heavenly Mat or other acupressure mat help you lose weight? Though, it sounds almost to good to be true, the mats work by lowering your cortisol levels which in turn can lead to a reduction in fat.
Cortisol, is a hormone that is involved in a number of body functions including blood pressure regulation, insulin release, immune function and more. Cortisol is responsible for our “fight or flight” response to stressful situations. A healthy amount of cortisol is good. But with continued stress, which is common in our society, to much cortisol is produced. Excess cortisol can create a number of issues including fat storage, especially in the abdominal area.
The Heavenly and Halsa Mats are foam mats with an outer covering that has small, plastic spikes. When you lay on these acupressure mats, the spikes stimulate the skin, naturally releasing endorphins. The endorphins promote a feeling of well being and relaxation. A warm sensation spreads through the body as you rest on the spikes. Blood circulation is stimulated, muscle tension relieved and stress released.
Benefits from using the acupuncture mats are usually experienced in the very first session. Users, have expressed relief from many types of body aches, better sleep and a more positive attitude.
When choosing an acupressure mat you will want to consider the number of spikes and materials used. The mats are not big like a yoga or exercise mat. They are usually around 17 inches or so. They fold for easy storage and don’t take up much space. Acupressure mats are fairly inexpensive, running under fifty dollars depending on the brand. There are a number of brands on the market.
The Halsa Wellness Acupressure Mat and Heavenly Acupressure Mat are two quality ones. They each boast 8,820 spikes, cotton coverings, and foam cushioning. The Heavenly Mat comes in black, blue, green and orange. The Halsa Mat comes in black, green and purple. The Halsa company (halsa is a Swedish word for health) also sells the matching Halsa Acupressure Pillow.
According to the Heavenly Mat company the acupuncture mats also known as a bed of nails, have become so popular in Sweden they were the best selling holiday gift in 2009 and 1 in 10 Swedes owns one.
How to Use an Acupressure Mat
The Heavenly Acupressure Mat, Halsa Mat and other acupressure mats are easy to use but may take time to get used to. Lay the mat on even surface. Lay with your back weight evenly distributed on top of the mat. At first you may find this uncomfortable but your body will adjust. It is best to use the mat with bare skin but you may want to wear a thin layer of clothing when you start out. Start with 10 minutes on the mat and work up to 45 minutes. You can also use it on other areas of the body depending on the regions you need to work on.
Users experience different sensations when the body is adjusting to the mat. You may feel tired or refreshed. Energetic or drowsy. Ultimately, the mat will help release the bodies natural pain relief hormones which will help promote physical and mental wellness.
This is an easy, drug free way to relax, relieve body aches and target belly fat. The question now is not that you need one, but which color to get!

There are several different ones on the market. Two good ones to try are the Halsa Mat and Heavenly Mat.
Can you sleep with the mat all night
Thanks
It is not recommended to sleep on the mat overnight. But it is possible when you use it, you become so relaxed you do fall asleep for a short period of time and that is fine, it is just not intended as an every night, all night sleep mat. I use mine in the evening, before I go to bed. I find it relaxes me so I have a more restful sleep.
